Daniel, I do NOT deny that most of the quotes on
that page come from HPB and ML, nor do I deny -
from one point of view - the worth that you
publish Miss Hobbe's article, becaucse it mirrors
the
standing of occult knowlegde of the Theosophists.
What I regard as poppycock is NOT the quotes
themselves, nor the existence of your homepage,
but the silly, exoteric dead-letter brain-minded
misreadings of it and the speculations which lead
the readers rather to darkness instead to light.
This is quite different from motive and
implication as you assumed, don't?
I doubt HPB would be satisfied with this article.
Nor is my criticism my own invention as we have
from HPB herself the keys of how to read and
interpret occult texts. And that HPB's hints about
messenger, successors etc. are very occult
expressed will no one deny, don't? Or do the
Theosophists read this high occult texts like a
Mickey Mouse issue?
HPB warned always to read with limited lower manas
Western mind.
The topic has to do with dead-letter reading or
exoterix vs. exoteric reading. It is the train of
thought thru all theosophical quarrels and shisms
from the beginning:
Olcott's and Sinnett's doubt about HPB's superior
occult knowledge, Besant's doubts about Judge's
superior occult knowledge.
Hargrove's, Hartmann's, de La Rue's and Crosbie's
doubts about Tingley's superior knowledge and so
on.
This train of thought goes thru all quarrels:
inner and outer rounds, are we in the fourth or
fifth subrace, do messengers exist, O.H.s, Leaders
etc. etc. It seems that the different school of
Theosophy repeat the divisions of buddhistic
schools.
One theosophical school can be regarded
as Mahayana (complete vehicle), the other as
Hinanyana (defective vehicle), the other as
Vajrayana (fast vehicle).
The different schools and shisms can be listed up
as follows:
1. HPB was unique, left no successor.
2. HPB left Annie Besant as successor.
3. HPB left Judge as successor.
4. HPB left Besant and Judge as successor.
5. HPB and Judge were unique, left no successor.
6. Judge left Katherine Tingley as successor.
7. Judge left Hargrove as successor.
8. Judge left Crosbie as successor.
etc. etc.
We see that each messenger which comes form the
fountain sources will find among the followers
some who become dogmatic, fanatical, crystallized,
which could not read the sign of the times, which
can not discriminate between the form and the
principle and so that messenger becomes persecuted
by the Judasses.
Or to put it more drastic: The esoteric followers
of HPB are persecuted by the exoteric followers,
the latter claim to be the one and only followers.
It seems that the Theosophists has repeated the
old judeo-christian "astral track" (as Emmett used
to say) of 2,000 years ago.
Miss Hobbes in her article seems to think that
when she discovers fake messengers, false Christs
then there exists only false ones. But that is not
very logical. It is rather ULT logic (to speak
German).
But logic says that when false messengers exists,
then there must be also true messengers, leading
the Theosophical Movement. Because without truth
the false cannot exist. Miss Hobbes throws out the
baby with the bath. When she attacks both the true
and the false messengers she misinforms her
readers and it seems that she for herself has not
developed the power of discrimination as how to
recognize a true messenger.
The one-sideness of this article does not inform
that we already common know of at least one occult
hierarchy of successors with the Tashi and Dalai
Lamas in Tibet (at least it was so until now).
The Dalai Lama in his autobiography describes the
procedure when one Lama is gone. A committee of
trained chelas is organized to recognize the
insignia majestatis and find the successor (the
"reincarnation" in popular phrase).
KT's book "The Mysteries of the Heart Doctrine"
(not online to my knowledge) gives good hints. The
more important is the explanation of Gottfried de
Purucker in his lecture "Messengers from the
Lodge - The Insignia Majestatis"
http://www.theosophy-nw.org/theosnw/teachers/te-gdp7.htm .
If this thought would have been included in Miss
Hobbe's article, I would have been satisfied, as
contrast forces us to think.
The silly specualtions of the ULT editors in the
links section tends in its blindness for spiritual
light to black magic. That is exactly the way the
Catholic church thinks.
What concerns me is that if the Theosophists have
still not learned their lessons in over 100 years
and step on the spot rather to go ahead, for how
long more has planet Earth and mankind to wait?
Theosophists need a brain Tsunami. Or a kick in
the ass.
Is the link broken?
Or is the link not broken?
How can a link be renewed?
And who can do it?
Who can answer such questions?
Who can discriminate lie from truth?
Poppycock from first hand knowledge?
Daniel, I hope - facing the complecity of this
train of thought: Esoteric vs. exoteric reading,
shisms and silly and unjust persecutions of HPB,
Judge, KT, and GdeP by self-styled
pseudo-Theosophists) - that this is enough for the
beginning. The ball is yours and we can start the
next round.
Best wishes,
Frank

For a better understanding of the World teacher
case - which is directly connected with the
doctrine of messengers in both higher Buddhism and
higher Theosophy - Katherine Tingley's book "The
Mysteries of the Heart Doctrine" may be helpful
and gives first hand information.
The poppycock speculations online on that topic

also proof that the mass of Theosophists even
today does not understand what a world teacher, a
messenger, a tulku, a Leader, an Outer Head, a
helper of mankind, a paraclet is."

Frank, please share with Theos-Talk readers
what speculations in the article titled
"Madame Blavatsky's Occult Status and the
Claims of Latter-Day Messengers of the Masters"
you consider POPPYCOCK and even more important
please share with us your reasoning for
labelling them POPPYCOCK.
Most of the material comes from the writings
of H.P. Blavatsky and the Masters K.H. and M.
