If you include temporary slaves (which were still chattel that could be
bought and sold), there were quite a few white slaves. But what you said
in the last sentence is the point I'm trying to make. Unfortunately,
part of the pseudo-postmodernist thinking that has been infecting the
Western World is that you don't need any knowledge of a subject to be an
expert.
