Psychic Protection, and Visionary Experiences.

Dear All,

In the Radhasoami Faith the Five Holy Names, or
the one Holy Name is used not only to help withdraw
conciousness to the Third Eye but also acts as a means
of protection against negative forces. Here, we are
really talking about a special mantra which is charged
by the RS Sant Satguru. Such a method is used not just
in Indian traditions but in many others such as
Sufism, and Buddhism.

A book entitled India of Yogis by the Spainish
psychiatrist Dr. Alfonso Caycedo looks into the
subject of inner visions of yogis. It was found that
they were not highly regarded but were seen as merely
milestones on the way to "God-Realization". Indeed,
they were sometimes interpreted as just
hallucinations...and hence, of no importance at all.
In Shabd Yoga the attitude is largely the same. As the
Satsangi ascends into the higher planes during
meditation he must not get lost in the fantastic
scenery of his experience. Instead, he must
concentrate on the Radiant Form of his Master, or Sant
Satguru. This is all important, or else ofcourse he,
or she may go astray.
I remember once a Satsangi telling me that he saw
someone faint due he claimed to possession. However,
it transpired that such experiences happened when the
inner Light suddenly became too dazzling. This caused
the recepient usually a woman to faint at times of
high emotion.
