Steve, I agree and also ask myself where the "failing" might be. It is the
word "failing" that I have trouble with, and am still waiting for Zakk's
explanation.

In past posts, I have talked about the differences in the two Arcs and how
going from Descent to Ascent changes our concepts of black and white, or
good and evil. But as far as I know, magic is magic, and I see no
"failings" per se. So I am still waiting for Zakk to explain what he means.
Apparently his definition of "ancient magics" has to do with those on the
Arc of Descent, and yes the ssituation changes "when a dominant Involution
process alters to a dominant Evolution process." But in a sense we have
both involution and evolution going on together all the time, and so Zakk's
use of the word "dominant" is especially interesting.

Along the Arc of Descent we are defining and making restrictions. We are
self-creating our individual personalities as reincarnating beings. We are
emeshing ourselves in material forms and personal desires. Along the Arc of
Ascent all of this changes. We begin to question this individual self that
we created. We begin to un-define things, and to unify instead of
differentiate. Along the Arc of Descent matter evolves and spirit involves,
and then along the Arc of Ascent this reverses. Blavatsky tells us that the
Arcs changed, that the planetary chain of Rounds bottomed out, some
millions of years ago, and that we are already moving up the Arc of Ascent.
I don't see what this does to magic per se, and I prefer to wait for Zakk's
explanation before offering any detailed commentary.
