Jerry
If I am not asking too much , would you also be able to send the scanned preface from the original Peking version to my private email?
You should scan it into a 150 dpi grayscale page, is gets very light file.No need for higher resolutions if the only aim is read and then print in desktop printers.
I have two translations from different translators and they only quote the foreword but it was not included in the jubille´s edition.
This tiny book is such a rich reservoir of wisdom, so little understood andstudied by most theosophists.

Thanks in advance

Hello John,

Yes, I have a copy of the Peking edition here, and would be happy to
scan the foreword for you and anyone else who wants it. A straight scan
(not OCR) would be best, otherwise I would have to proof it for scanning
errors, and it would then no longer be a true copy. Since theos-talk is
not set up to accept attachments, I will have to email it to you direct.
Just give me a day or two to get to it.

Regarding your six questions, I hardly feel qualified to answer them.
Rather, I would be interested in a further elaboration upon what you
have read and learned concerning these 16 and 18 Arhats.

Your final question, however, does bring to mind the discussion we had
at the time with the aforementioned Indian member of our study group,
who made the remark about the "two white men." He elaborated at the
time that he believes that there are Mahatmas and that HPB was in touch
with them. But he is also of the opinion that the appearance of the
Mahatmas depends quite a lot upon the personality and expectations of
the viewer.

Thank for your feedback.
