Thanks for your clarification.
Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru (first PM of India) were both shocked and
surprised at the level of violence between neighbors and individuals - they
always felt about the tolerance of Indians - and they were at a loss what
to do. There is a small writeup about Nehru meeting with J Krishnamurti at
that time in Ooty and discussing this issue. However we cannot deny that
Independence did open up the potential of India as was envisaged by the
Adepts in 1800s.
