Re Politics and re figuring history

Dear Friends:

I am in agreement with Mr. E H --

let's DROP THE POLITICS THING on this list and concentrate on trying to find
out what THEOSOPHY is, and how we can improve our lives.

Are we or are we not immortal beings? If so, does politics matter ? We
cannot un-make history.

If our views do not include all humanity, then of what use are further
divisions?

Is hatred, doubt and confusion immortal?

Where do these tendencies arise?

How and why are they fostered?

Do they serve to improve our lives and to unite us?

Or is it the "Lower Manas" running wild with fancy?

Let's remember that Brotherhood exists because the Spiritual EGO in each of
us is a divine impersonal and non-political being. The periodical bodies we
take on are no doubt invested with name, family, country, religion and
unfortunately politics.

Consider that politics is not usually designed for people but for those that
claim the have the right to govern them.

Ask yourself, does it really matter who governs? Do we know intimately
those who claim to be responsible for the laws that govern our cities,
states, countries?

Do we really know the basis for our Constitution, and its various
Amendments, the Bill of Rights, and finally the Duties of Citizens?

What are the simple rules of co-existence? What is Morality? What are
Ethics? What is "tolerance?"

Or does it not mater that everyone should be treated fairly with justice and
freedom and equity?

To talk is one thing, to live and act responsibly is quite another. Does
THEOSOPHY teach this? If so how and where?

Best wishes,

Dallas
