One last irrelevant comment. We cannot prove or disprove the
existence of God but that is partly because the nature of the
question keeps getting redefined. The ancient Jews believed in (but
did not worship) a sort of goblin called the "el." There is a story
in Genesis about someone "wrestling with God" which is believed by
scholars to go back to the "el" period. But I am not aware of anyone
in the mainstream today who believes in els.
Can you show some historical evidence of this outside of fundamentalist
Christian, Islamic or Nazi literature?
Later they worshipped a volcano which is now extinct.
