I would say:

Words will always help.
What can be said depends on the peoples level of understanding, their
possibility of digesting the teaching or the words - and the circumstances
in general.
The outcome also depends upon if anyone is doing the hard work necessary.

Jesus and Buddha did indeed succeed. Just not in the manner you talk about.
It takes a certain amount of time to make certain plants grow and sprout. So
it also is with us humans.

Patience...It will happen...
