To be rather offbeatedly serious for a second, Leadbeater wrote an article
for the Adyar Theosophist on talismanic magick which was one of the best on the
subject I have ever seen. Mary Lutyens wrote in "To Be Young" that Leadbeater
was in the habit of making and charging talismans for various people so yes,
it is not impossible that he created one to increase his own influence and
have it last.
