Charles Boni, 1927. Black cloth hardcovers w/ black dust jackets and mylar 
sleeves, in gold colored cardboard slipcase, gilt titles, etc. to spines and 
front covers, vol. 1--20 pp of prelims + 254 pp., vol. 2--xii + 273 pp., very 
good condition in good slip case. Slip case is shelf worn, slight wear to dust 
jacket, light soiling to dust jacket, minor soiling to page edges. S.E.D.'s 
Foreword to this massive work describes its content most clearly in the following 
statement. " Astrology and astronomy, esoteric and exoteric knowledge of the 
heavenly bodies or entities, have lain at the generating heart of every great 
religion that has waxed and waned upon earth in accordance with cyclical 
celestial law. " So many topics are covered in this work, including: religion, 
symbolism, mythology, astrology, Egyptology among others, that it is greatly 
appealing to scholars and students of many disciplines.
