Well, it doesn't look like this 1851 encounter had happened at all 
but it does make for a great story, doesn't it?

In the same MASTERS IN THE PATH, Leadbeater gives details about a 
ravine where the Masters all live with a diagram of the inside of 
KH's house, their everyday activities at home, etc. I couldn't help 
but be reminded of JRR Tolken. CWL would have made a great fantasy 
writer.
