Dear A:
Thanks and understood:
We do and can use her BOOKS and statements. They help, and we also can
correlate them. How else does our mind learn (teach itself) to transcend
merely physical plane limitations?
Your surmise in general I would agree to.
Since we cannot reverse those (to us) errors, why give them prominence when
the work we can do now, for the future, lies at hand? As to A G let him
languish in his own "soup." No one detains him (or others) there that I
know of. The THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY may need reform, but if so, then it has
to come from within the present student body. I am afraid that its inertia
may defeat that-- yet individuals do emerge and decide to be "free."
Meanwhile, as I see it, we have constructive work to do, and a part of that
is to help each other with the continual checking and verifying of the
"teachings." The other and most important aspect is to promulgate the
fundamental ideas of Theosophy, and offer proofs of their validity when the
are found.
Best wishes.
Dallas

I see what you mean, Dallas. Nothing should be decided simply upon opinion.
But, once a subject is broached, don't we have a duty to inspect the
appropriate documentation and then give our intuitive understanding on the
matter? My ideal is "Transactions of the Blavatsky Lodge" (aka "The Secret
Doctrine Commentary"), but of course, we do not have HPB here to answer our
questions in full. However, she and others have left us a veritable library
of knowledge if we only seek for it. The only problem I see is that Anand
Gholap's Group has so much more than the standard works of the founders that
he wants us to peruse before we can be fully informed. While I am pretty
well read, like most of you, I personally do not have much knowledge of CWL
and some others in the Adyar Society. They seemed to take a wrong turn with
the Krishnamurti situation, and I became lost in the shuffle. Thank the
devas I found WQJ and others like GdeP when Adyar began to set up the LCC
and other dogmatic issues. I tried to get into the spirit of the LCC, but
it just did not fit with HPB's pantheism and generally anti-christian line.
HPB and the Masters were pretty adamant about no more anthropomorphic gods
or religions. Yes, let's document our intuitions, but don't expect us to
have to know all about Adyar's vicissitudes before we can come to a
conclusion.
