Wasting time? I wonder...

A major misperception that perhaps needs to be recognised on this
group is that simply because it has been stated that there are certain
teachings that are recognised as being those presented originally by
Madame Blavatsky and her teachers, and then by others that came later
who claimed to receive teachings from the very same source and yet are
completely different in content, by association does not therefore
mean anyone who makes such an observation to be therefore claiming the
teachings are correct or incorrect but simply that they cannot be from
the same source.

I myself would not assert Blavatsky and her teachers are correct,
there philosophy is extremely consistent and continues to be a source
of inspiration but that does not mean I know it to be absolutely
correct...maybe I am being led up the garden path with it!

It seems to be worth pursuing at this point in time and I using this
sort of approach helpful for spiritual /philosophical inquiry, leaving
room for new ideas and points of view which will hopefully change
quite regularly as I discover more and always remind myself the Truth
cannot be found in the pages of a book.

I am often reminded of a Woody Allen film where he asks his father if
he thinks theres a God, to which his father who is trying to open a
can up replies`do I think theres a God? I can't even get this can
opener to work!'

To me this is a good way of looking at our predicament we are all
trying to operate the can opener and haven't got to opening up the can
yet.
But we are all trying and hopefully in the spirit of truth and
Brotherhood one day we'll get a peak in keeping our sense of humor
along the way.

It is perhaps a little presumptuous to catagorise and imply that every
person who disagrees with us in some things is therefore not
interested in world peace, and concerned over corrupt world
politics... and is only selfishly focused on one area of research and
not actively pursuing other altruistic causes whatever that may be.

Perhaps looking from a theosophical perspective our own discussions
and debates here on this group are microcosms and opportunities to
approach differences in a way that will go into Universal Mind and be
picked up there which has an influence however small (or maybe not so
small) on those world power structures.
This is why to me, truth needs to be upheld and genuine investigation
pursued regardless of what may be encountered.
None of us can claim to know absolute truth but in our journey its the
motive and the way we work within that process that is important.
