Dear J and Friends:

I don't recall Mme. Blavatsky referring to "4 stages of Nirvana." Maybe I
missed something?

All I can think of are correspondences given in the teachings -- as viewed
from this our present plane of objectivity and things that have tangible
forms.

This relates to a State Of Consciousness that only the Adepts, the elder
Brothers and the Masters know by actual entrance into it and then by WILL
their individual return here as witnesses and teachers -- the S D gives us
good cause to value that.

1.	"Deep sleep" (or Sushupti) resembles Nirvana ( see TRANSACTIONS OF
THE BLAVATSKY LODGE pp 65-6)

2.	"Devachan" (has two states: Rupa and Arupa) also resembles "Nirvana"
as far as we are concerned. ( see THEOS ART. & NOTES pp. 17-34 and read
what is said in The KEY TO THEOSOPHY and The OCEAN OF THEOSOPHY on
Devachan).

3	"Turiya or Samadhi" a profound state of mediation may compare with
this -- as attainable only but the morally pure and rect individuals who
follow the PATH. Their individual CONSCIOUSNESS is not obliterated but
enhanced and after this "initiation" they become "faultless seers."

4.	"Pralaya" and "Layam" (at the end of a Mahamanvantara, might be
compared to a Nirvana). Some definitions of the state of consciousness
there ought to be compared and contrasted.

"Nirvana" or "Paranirvana" -- many descriptions (S D has the best and also
MAHATMA LETTERS THAT HAVE HELPED ME - Judge,, so have The KEY TO THEOSOPHY
and The OCEAN OF THEOSOPHY )

Dallas,

Thanks as always for your post. I enjoyed reading the excellent choice
of
the content you selected for our perusal.

Below is a website on Buddhism that I found to have unique content that
"pinged" my mind reflectively to certain Theosophical idea's, I will let
each
make their own evaluation as to that.

http://www.yogichen.org/efiles/bmch3.html

Also over time as I read posts occasionally mention is made about the
Buddhist term "Nirvana," but if my memory is right I do not remember mention

being made of the fact that Nirvana is composed of "Four Stages." What did
Madame Blavatsky have to say about the "Four Stages of Nirvana?"

J
