Re: Theos-World Master Koot Hoomi on a Theosophical teaching

Referring to the KH quote below. Take all that any way you will. But, from
the occultist's (or serious, non literal, theosophical student-chela's) point
of view, it does not say anything about the method of the process, nor
indicate that there are certain "forms" of matter throughout all kingdoms of Nature
-- such as organic, living beings, from the single celled vegetable organism to
the human body itself, that cannot be so manipulated by the highest Adepts.
Thus, all such assertions by Adepts or Masters -- whose purposes were (at the
time) to convince their ignorant followers of their powers and wisdom of
occult processes -- are essentialy misleading to the serious student of the occult
-- without deep study into all the ramifications, including the qualifications
and exceptions with respect to such assertions.

This statement by KH, accordingly, may be a "philosophical" rationale for the
lost and found cup and saucer phenomena, but it certainly isn't a scientific
one, nor does it refer directly to it in particular -- which may be a special
case in itself, and if examined closely from an occult metaphysical point of
view, may be an impossibility in the sense of creation from scratch, but could
more likely be a lost-found situation, or, if not actually dug up out of the
ground, an illusion of glamour or a psychic manipulation of reflected and
refracted light, or clairvoyance... Processes, incidentally, that can still be
considered as psychic phenomena based on metaphysical principles... And thus, NOT
fraudulent "stage magic" tricks (as you presume unjustly, that I think they
are).

Therefore, in spite of my questioning the observations and reports of the cup
and saucer phenomena by eye witnesses or others, I stand by HPB and assume
that, while she may have used glamour and other controlled psychic methods, she
never used fraudulent "stage magic" tricks in the performance of any of her
psychic phenomena.

BTW, did you ever question why the Masters and HPB used precipitated letters
rather than telepathy (a much easier and simpler method) to transmit their
messages to each other. Could it be that such a "paper trail" choice was a
simple way to impress their close circle of initial followers, and give them
something physical to hang on to?
