If the molecules are uniformly distributed throughout the solvent
chemical (in this case distilled water), which could easily be done
by letting the solution stand for a day or two, I would defy even
Koot Hoomi to dilute the solvent to such a degree that not a single
molecule of the chemical originally dissolved in it remains. The
human body is sensitive enough to notice and respond to the presence
of a single molecule, but whether or not that cures diseases I am
unable to say.
The special cases of cugar precipitating from a glass of cold tea and
oil not mixing with water do not moot the above statement because in
those cases the precipitated substance is not dissolved. In the case
of the tea, the coefficient of solubility of water diminishes when
the substance is cooled. Thus you can dissolve more sugar in warm
water than in cold water, so that when the tea is cooled it enters
the state known as super saturation, and then proceeds to equilibrium
(resulting in precipitation) when the system is disturbed. The same
phenomenon causes rain, but in this case it is water dissolved in air.
Yes, there was a book, which I have, called ZEN MACROBIOTICS which
has nothing to do with Zen and which is based on a (some say)
questionable theory of nutrition. It is healthier than the Atkins
diet, however. I question whether an escape artist is competent to
lecture us on biochemistry.
As for being relieved by opinions of The Amazing Randi, I relieve
myself from time to time when it is necessary, but would not travel
to Rumsford, New Jersey each and every time even if I thought Randi
were able to somehow do it for me. Some things one must simply do
oneself. If old age ever starts to catch up with me (I am planning
to skip the remainder of the aging process this time around) I might
be obliged to change my mind about being relieved by others. That
happens to some of the very old.
Randi of course uses others as a latrine when he feels the need to
relieve himself. I think that is why all his hair fell out. Just my
theory. Some day I may materialize a teacup and relieve Randi of
that million dollars he claims he will give away (and which he has
yet to award to anyone), but he need not relieve me.
