Hi Steve,

You make some good points. I have benefitted from previous discussion
on this as well, so partly perhaps I'm being bored because I've been
along this track too often.

Of course HPB's philosophy is not proof, but evidence. A typo on my
part. Anyhow, as I feel that the limits of natural law haven't been
found by me (or anyone) yet, I don't need to witness 'phenomena' to
proove that point.

As for 'objective observers' - do they exist? I understand sceptical
observers will probably never take this stuff seriously. And if even
the newspaper-experiment would be picked appart, how can one possibly
think of an experiment that would convince everybody? Anyhow, why even
try. I feel the Mahatma was ultimately more concerned about the
wellfare of humanity (which would be helped more by doubts then by
certainty on these issues - I agree) than about convincing people.

Blavatsky's job wasn't impossible, obviously, but difficult. Typo
again, I guess. Exageration seems to have slipped into that mail a
lot. My apologies.

as for >> But Buddhism is regrettably dying out everywhere.>>
Witness the amount of buddhist websites and the activity of e-sangha:
http://www.lioncity.net/buddhism/

But the prophesy also has it that up to the moment that it actually
does die out there will be bodhisattvas around to explain the true
doctrine, so the one doesn't necessarily deny the other.
Fortunately the truth can't die out. Its preferred shape can change
though.

As for Hindu fundamentalism - I feel that is smaller cycle. Christian
and Muslim fundamentalism are also strong in this era. But there are
undercurrents of change that can't be ignored either, I feel.
Fundamentalism is strong precisely because people feel the
insecurities of this time and therefore they hold onto old securities
and group structures. [she wrote hopefully]

Of course, as this is kali-yuga, we can't expect much. But we can hope
for the best - and help work that magic in our own lives.

Katinka
