Hi Katinka,
I have to agree with you. After all, what is Theosophy about, a lot
of debate about what did or didn't happen over 100 years ago? Or is
it about learning to live as self-responsible adult human beings?
Someone said to me a long time ago, "Either you believe this stuff or
you don't. " If you do (if I do) then there is no need to ask these
eternal questions about whether this or that was real or a trick.
There is a deeper resonance to the material, that of truth expressed
by fine human beings, people who lived their lives according to their
own higher ideals and who did tremendous work for humanity, for us,
in fact--people who acted according to inner directions given by
entities of a higher order, entities whose wisdom is above question
by such as we are. But if we don't believe this stuff, then why are
we even talking about it? Surely for those to whom it is all smoke
and mirrors, there must be something else that would benefit from
their attention in some positive way.
Best wishes,
Adelasie
