Thank you, Bart. Yes, I appreciate your honesty and must say that
your explanations of how the phenomena were done were quite a blow to
my confidence in the whole matter. It now appears there may not be
any solid evidence of anything unusual having taken place.
That is a problem because the whole premise of volume 1 of the SD is
that the solar system (and presumaly the rest of the universse] was
materialized. The nebular gypothesis is correct, in other words,
exceptthat some sort of will or intelligence directed the coming
together of siscrete atoms in space to form planets and the sun.
That cannot be proved to be true, of course, but it seems credible if
the same phenomenon can be demonstrated today. If none of the
materializations were anything but tricks the way Bart says they were
that is a blow to the credibility of the book.
Anyway, I appreciate your honesty, Bart, and your insights, and at
the same time am feeling a bit discouraged right now.
BTW, how did Houdini do the metamorphosis trick? It is supposed to
be on the internet but I have not found the site.
