Actually, if it is meaningful to say any of us ever will be "divine" 
we are already as "divine" as we will ever be. I believe it was Hui 
Neng who said:

"The only difference between the Buddha and the unenlightened man is 
that the Buddha is a Buddha and knows it, whereas the unenlightened 
man is a Buddha and does not know it."

As for theosophical theories, since they have nothing to do with 
experiencing enlightenment (as distinguished from being enlightened 
in theory and yet being consciously aware of it) I see them as just 
mind candy. They are like Cocoa Puffs: fun to chew on, but anyone 
who gets dogmatic about them is somehow missing the point.
