God among other cultures

Hi Everybody and Dallas:

Dallas quoted the following taken from the MAHATMA LETTERS:
"...The word "God" was invented to designate the unknown cause of those
effects which man has either admired or dreaded without understanding
them, and since we claim and that we are able to prove what we claim
-- i.e. the knowledge of that cause and causes we are in a position to
maintain there is no God or Gods behind them..."

In all ancient folks there was always one special gifted one in the tribe, someone born with special spiritual gifts.
In Siberia they were called - adaptedly - Shamans. In Alasca, Canada and passing through USA, central america and South america they had although different names, titles, they kept certain similar rituals.
And the great majority of them repoted to a unknown divinity that they worship as "the Great Unknown one".
In USA the tribes notably in the Lakota , named Wakan Tanka.
This is the similar form of our present concept on God that we are obtaining from the MLŽs.
Wakan Tanka, for example, as Grandfather is the Great Spirit independent ofmanifestation, unqualified, identical to the Christian Godhead, or to the Hindu Brahma-Nirguna. Wakan Tanka as Father is the Great Spirit considered in relation to His manifestation, either as Creator, Preserver, or Destroyer, identical to the Christian God, or to the Hindu Brahma-Saguna.
According to James Sword, a Lakota writer, in the old times the Lakotas believed that Wakan Tanka was everywhere all the time and observed everythingthat each one of mankind did and even knew what anyone thought, that he might be pleased or displeased because of something that one did. So the shamans taught the people ceremonies that would please Wakan Tanka and gain Hisfavor. They taught ceremonies regarding everything a man does.
IMO through theosophy, no matter how many books you read, youŽll always have built your own idea of what God is, inspite of many opinions of one Mahatma or another.
Sometimes it drives me to the conclusion that we study Theosophy to form, to shape, our own theosophy, our conception of the universe surround us.
