What is Theosophy?

What would be the most healthful inner attitude of a student of
theosophy? To consider relative truths, until he or she may know by
experience what is real and what is unreal.

A mind to grow has to have the possibility to investigate without
pre-conceits. We find within the writings of Blavatsky and other
theosophists several definition on what is theosophy.

In its practical bearing, Theosophy is purely divine ethics. . .
(TGLOSSARY 328)

If theosophy on its practical bearing is purely divine ethics, how
it could be something that is not alive? How it could not be an
inner fire alive within the heart of the friends of the truth?

Our mind has a great need to define something within limits. Why
because all the time we are looking for answer to satisfy our ego.

Every one of us have got in some degree a personal set of dogmas.

But the great challenge is to develop a state of mind able to
question the slightest shadow of dogma that may be nourished by our
mind, developing an open mind able to make deep inquires.

In this sense any blind believe, even the blind believe in
reincarnation is going to be a shadow within our mind that does not
give us the ability to grow.

So an advice I may give, and this is something that I am working
with. Try to consider relative truths, this may be is real or
unreal, as I dont know and I am sympathetic
for this concept I will consider as a relative truth.

But not as a relative truth for the sake of the term, but as a real
state of mind that is able to ponder deeper and deeper.

What is the importance of this concept? What is the
importance of this knowledge? To search for the truth should
be our aim.

But to search for the truth for what? To satisfy our
inner needs? To satisfy our desire for existence? Or to search for
the truth because there may be this personality is going to have
strongest possibilities to help a better world? To inspire? To
help to release in some degree ignorance? Maybe none of the aboves
movements is the right one to search for the truth, maybe to search
for the truth as a person that is lost in the desert search
for water.

When we hold a believe within our mind, a believe that's final for
us, our mind becomes static, and the deterioration process takes
place faster and faster, crystallizing our mind and closing every
possibility to grow. For how a bird can fly in the sky within a
cage? So it's necessary to open our inner cages, and our inner cages
are sets of dogmas. Only than will be possible to fly.
