Other publishers

======================================================

T.S. THEOSOPHICAL PUBLISHING HOUSE / Quest Books, for "The Secret Doctrine:"

http://www.questbooks.net/title.cfm?bookid=164

They have been printing this edition, edited by Boris de Zirkoff, since
1978. Most of his "editing" was to the quotations from other writers,
which he corrected to their published versions. Other things were also
changed; all that I have seen were minor, but it is not a facsimile, nor
does it pretend to be.

"Third volume" is an Index.

-----------------------------------------------------

T.S. Adyar, THEOSOPHICAL PUBLISHING HOUSE India publications list:

http://www.ts-adyar.org/catalogue.asp

As far as I can tell, there is no way to order books from this website, nor
is there a separate edition of the S.D. from that offered through TPH/Quest
(see above). All the links go to TPH/Quest, or refer one to their
bookstores.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

THEOSOPHICAL UNIVERSITY PRESS T S Pasadena, CA
:
http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/ts/sd.htm

SECRET DOCTRINE : they state that theirs is a "Photographic facsimile of
the original 1888 edition"
It has been available since 1977.

Their Index is excellent.

------------------------------------------------------

KESSINGER PUBLICATIONS,

which reprints many Theosophical titles, has a soft cover reprint of the
1938 six volume set
of the SECRET DOCTRINE (T P H, Adyar, London, Wheaton):

http://www.kessinger-publishing.com/searchresults_quicksearch.lasso?Search=b
lavatsky&Skip=50&Submit=Query

This is like going to a book antiquarian, however, and getting a Xerox copy,
which is basically what they do. The quality is mediocre.

2

Every action, be it thought, emotion, or word returns as Karma to the
originator.

If the cause and purpose was to help others, then : ------- "good" Karma
is received.

If it deceives, or makes understanding difficult, or is frivolous -- then
---- ? What results?

Look on every action as a stone thrown into the ocean of living -- the
ripples spread, they touch every other atom in the Universe and eventually,
yes, eventually, they return to the point (or the person) of origin.

So does the Law of karma work and It being immutable, involves in its
passage all beings.

Each one of us makes our own future as we live and act.

The Buddha taught:

"Those who live in the pleasure ground of fancy,
see truth in the unreal and untruth in the real.
They never arrive at truth." [Ch. 1, v. 11. Dhammapada]

"all that we are is the result of what we have thought;
all that we are is founded on our thoughts and formed of our thoughts.
If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness pursues him,
Like his own shadow that never leaves him." [Ch I, V. 2. Dhammapada]

Best wishes,

Dallas
