Dear Ones,

Also, these Movements who want but to "pray" rather than WORK, may have
forgotten or never knew what HPB and the Mahatmas constantly stressed: Work
is the highest form of prayer. We cannot, should not, and must not "pray
ourselves into heaven," leaving the rest of humanity to rot in the
so-called "valley of tears" (which it is not, for the physical plane is a
place to grow, that is its raison d'être). It is rank egotism, and a
dangerous one----and a blasphemy of the Divine---, to think that we could
GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. We can not. If we manage to rob a portion of the
Universe, and amass money & riches for ourselves through a misuse of the
power of affirmation------a corresponding amount of health, sanity,
reputation or happiness will be taken from us. Karma knows only equal
justice; the equilibrium will be struck, no matter what----EXACT balance
will be restored, regardless of the pain and suffering of the "sparrow that
falls to the ground" for daring to fool around with Nature's finer forces.

As long as the would-be "disciple" is on the level of "give me this and
that---fast!" he cannot even enter the path. Long and terrible trial will be
the portion of those who, demanding recognition from the Lodge, do not at
least suspect that they should NOT covet things----but do the very opposite
and be rather thankful for what they already got! They want to achieve
something? Let them comprehend that GRATITUDE is the mightiest occult force.
And only he who can say from his heart, "Thy will be done, not
mine"----asking the God Within, the Higher Self, for power to find out HIS
will, and be able to identify with this inner force of universal love and
justice----can become one with the Universe, and free himself from Maya.

Also, proselytizing is not the way of the White Lodge. As HPB and WQJ said,
it is difficult to distinguish between black and white, for the paths run
side by side. At our present stage of evolution, if we had a black and white
Adept in front of us, we just would not know the difference.

True Buddhism---occultism or theosophy----is renunciation of the world. It
does not ask, "What I can gain? and "how easy?"-----but, based on the sure
knowledge that "By the sweat of thy brow shall thou eat thy bread"----that
constant labor is the law of Great Nature----it only works, and GIVES, like
a child, saying: "Let me GIVE----to ALL, all that I have-----and be a
servant to all of my brothers and sisters."
