Yes.

In the autobiography, she recounts the story of someone going to
India, A friend or acquaintance going to the border of Tibet, and
meeting a high Lama who claimed to be her guru, and being given a
bundle of incense to take back to AAB. There was a reference to the
occurrence being recorded by a British official living there at the
border at the time. (I don't know if this has been confirmed
independently.)
