Ali,
Thank you for your reply to my original posting.
You write:
"You're splitting a single hair in a barbershop?.
Surely, given the massive amount of information
Bailey disseminated, you'd have tons more to rebut
than a few passages you can't seem to grasp?
Bailey elsewhere asserts that Master Jesus will
again embody the Christ, and in another passage
that the advanced disciples of Humanity will
collectively embody the Christ. I suppose that's
a hurdle you can't get over either?"
Ali,
Let me make a few comments in reply.
Whether I have "tons more to rebut" or not,
I am trying to deal with THESE passages written
by Bailey and Blavatsky. One thing at a time....
These quotes from Bailey deal with one of the
dominant themes of her writings.
You say that I can't seem to grasp what these
Bailey passages are about.
Then please help me and others by telling us
what we are missing when Bailey writes:
"They will prepare and work for conditions in
the world in which Christ can move freely among men,
in bodily Presence; He need not then remain in
His present retreat in Central Asia."
If this is not a CARNALIZED Christ, what else
is it?
Notice Bailey's words:
"...Christ can MOVE FREELY among men, in
BODILY Presence...."
"...He need not then remain in His present
retreat in CENTRAL ASIA. . . "
And please tell us how we should really
understand the following passage:
"His reappearance and His consequent work
cannot be confined to one small locality or domain,
unheard of by the great majority, as was
the case when He was here before. The radio,
the press, and the dissemination of news, will
make His coming different to that of any
previous Messenger; the swift modes of transportation
will make Him available to countless millions, and
by boat, rail and plane they can reach Him: through
television, His face can be made familiar to all,
and verily 'every eye shall see Him."
These and other passages by Bailey certainly fit
H.P. Blavatsky's phrase:
A PERSONAL, CARNALIZED SAVIOUR
If you disagree with this, then please tell us
exactly what HPB was referring to when she uses this
phrase.
In contrast to Bailey, HPB writes:
"It [genuine Theosophy] hushes the 'Lo here! and
lo there!' and declares the Christ, like
the kingdom of heaven, to be within."
". . . 'the coming of Christ,' means the presence
of CHRISTOS in a regenerated world, and not at
all the actual coming in body of 'Christ' Jesus; . . .
for Christ--the true esoteric SAVIOUR--
is no man, but the DIVINE PRINCIPLE in
every human being."
In light of these few passages from HPB's pen,
Bailey's comments as quoted below, are simply
describing A PERSONAL, CARNALIZED SAVIOUR.
"...Christ can MOVE FREELY among men, in
BODILY Presence...."
"...He need not then remain in His present
retreat in CENTRAL ASIA. . . "
Again, Ali, if we fail to grasp the true
meaning of these passages, please enlighten
us as to what they really mean.
