Norton Anti-virus does a fine job in picking out the viruses for me. In
any case, I almost missed a zip file filled with pictures from my
granddaughter (my son-in-law doesn't know the trick of putting in a
personal message when sending unsolicited attachments; the idea is that
you put in something personal and specific, AND say what the attachments
contain). I have a leg up; I know how to tell an executable from a
non-executable, and therefore know which attachments are safe. I've had
microcomputers since the late 70's, and have been online since the
mid-80's, and have only been hit by a single virus/trojan: the first
Word virus, which I got from work (nobody knew you COULD do a Word virus
at that point).
