That could well have been *reported*; in 1994 Michael Gomes informed 
me of a bizarre false rumor that he said originated in TS circles to 
discredit me. But if reported, this one wasn't true; there weren't 
any former Wheaton staffers on the ACT board. One former staffer 
(whom I never heard had been fired) provided some information, very 
reluctantly due to fear of repercussions, about what were viewed as 
abuses by staff, which was printed in the newsletter.

I used to admire The Quest but haven't seen it in years. Online 
Theosophists did not generally seem to share my opinion of it under 
William Metzger's editorship, though. How is its quality at present?
