Thanks for the memory.

It was all over the front pages of the newspapers here in the UK at the time.

The two pigs made a heroic escape which could be compared with some of the 
POW escape stories, and became acclaimed almost as heroes.

After all they did keep the newspapers in front page headlines for about 
three days.

Sadly, according to a slaughterman I knew back in the fifties, most animals 
knew when they were en route to the slaughter house and suffered very badly 
indeed from fear.

Still the day we find real alternatives to eating meat surely cannot be that 
far off now.
