Do you mean enzymes? They would be killed at higher temperatures. 
But hormones are fat-soluble and are molecules that are not 
necessarily killed when cooked. 

It is perhaps that there is so much in the way of hormones and 
pesticides in these things that cooking does not rid all of it out 
of the meat or the system. Cooking does kill most vitamins, but 
hormones are a bit more hardy.
