Hello Christiana,

You make a good point. And one I have expressed often and so have 
the masters: when the chela is ready the Master appears (right?). 
Well Netemara added a twist to it: When the disciple has arrived the 
Master disappears! Don't you love that? So I am saying we need to be 
indoctrinated, we need the books, we need to be brainwashed, we need 
to be under the thumb of a "Master" we need others in our groups, we 
need kings and queens. Yup, we need all of it. But when after many 
lifetimes we are fed up or sick of it or reached a level of light 
and enlightenment we wake up and say to ourselves "Hey, I don't need 
this anymore" and we simply walk away. Or we walk to another teacher 
until we outgrow or go beyond that teacher. 

DK says that the adept works ALONE and finds himself/herself in a 
spiritual cocoon until the crystalization and spiritual epiphany 
arrives. Then he goes public!
