You got it partly right Etzion, that it has a forward motion, but 
that is not how I see it. Many groups and races die out, are killed 
out and genocided out for evolutionary reasons. This made HPB very 
unpopular as we all know. Why can't we see the Holocaust of the Jews 
as another stripe in this pattern? Why can't we see that Jews and 
Africans had a spiritual cleansing to go through which resulted in 
loss of millions? It matters not the vehicle of genocide (Hitler or 
the Spanish) but the next cycle.

If we look at it in just the past 200 years we have had genocide of 
the Indians, Africans, Jews, Eastern Europeans and anyone else I've 
forgotten. It is no coincidence that these groups have been 
identified as being or having come to a high point in their 
evolution in Atlantean and Egyptian golden ages. They were all on 
the downward spiral.

So what happens is not that people are reborn within a group unless 
that is their group soul and the group in which they reach a level 
of perfection or apotheosis. I've written a great deal of Hitler's 
past life, present life, and role with the TS on 
theosophy_talks_truth it is part of my archives.
