And, as everybody knows, Michelangelo was fluent in both theology and 
Hebrew.

As I stated, the mistranslation may very well been on purpose, in which 
case it was the official policy of the Vatican that Moses, who was, 
after all, officially guilty of killing Jesus (as was I, at least in the 
first decade or so of my life) officially had horns.
