Two come quickly to mind. Plutarch mentions it in his essay "On the
Delaying of the Divine Justice," which can befound in the Loeb
Classical Library, and discusses the meanings of the various colors.
There is also a referennce in THE BOOK OF REVELATION to an angel
whose head was surrounded by a rainbow, clearly a reference to the
aura, although the reference was not explained, the book being an
esoteric text. much of which was deliberately closed to outsiders and
still is. I believe there are references in Buddhist texts as well,
but I would have to look the up to be sure.
