I guess it might be somewhat generally difficult ... or maybe somewhat generally difficult in some cases, maybe, for some people to cultivate the kind of "tough love" that some mothers, eg, might be seen to favor, for whatever reason (which reasons, motives might tend to create other, further considerations, of course, I suppose, from various perspectives, but ...).

Sorry about all those qualifiers. Thing is, I'm in the middle of trying to turn over some kind of new leaf so I'm sort of trying to minimize my qualifiers to some extent and so, hopefully, make myself somewhat more ... uh ... something. I'm not sure if "understandable" is the word I have in mind, exactly. What I think I might have in mind, or wish I had in mind, "I think," would seem to be whatever word that might be seen as "applicable enough" in this instance/context; but, on the other hand ... Okay, enough qualifiers for now.
