question for scholars/philosophers

Thank you Dallas, Leon, and Etzion, for responding to my questions.

Dallas, I will spend some time looking up the references you
suggested, very helpful, as always. The information about the Epoch
of the Mahabharata is especially interesting, striking as it does
near the 5000 year cycle suggested by some astronomers for this
activity of the planet Mars. It is fascinating that astronomers are
not sure if the figure is 5000 or 60,000, widely different in some
estimation, but in terms of occultism, perhaps there is a
correspondence?

Leon, I suspect you are perfectly right in mentioning the wars and
conflict that seem to proliferate in our era as related to the
proximity of Mars. And apparently you are correct also in linking our

current strife to the kali yuga cycle beginning with the wars of the
Mahabharata. I was wondering about possible alternative
interpretations, opportunities for courage, nobility, self-sacrifice,

qualities that pertain to war also, in the sense that the warriors
may personify them, and their possible application to the current
crisis in the evolution of humanity.

Etzion, let's hope that the influence of Mars may be a positive one,
maybe even that the red planet of war and aggression may have another

message for humanity at this time, another level, perhaps, of the
conditions brought about by war, putting us to the ultimate test,
finding out if we really have the strength to give all we have for
the benefit of others, of the whole. In the Bhagavad Gita, for
instance, it is quite clear that the battlefield described there is
the one in each individual heart, the war the one between the higher
and the lower self for domination of the individual.

Best wishes to all,
Adelasie
