truth and wisdom and teaching

Hi Bart,
I recently noticed in various discussions with theosophists
(including on this list, but not just here) that people actually
think that confusing people is part of true teaching... It has been
suggested (not on this list) that Blavatsky would be amused by
serious students being confused by her teachings. I don't think this
is reasonable at all. The only person I can think of that consciously
(and effectively, apparently) used confusion in his teachings was
Gurdjieff (And his books stimulate the intuition - precisely because
of the truth contained in them - mixed up with fiction as it
reportedly is. But since he is HONEST about that, there is no
problem, IMO). The rest of the teachers I consider sound would not
dream of purpusely creating mayhem (Krishnamurti, Blavatsky,
Mahatmas). The mahatmas for instance left that work to the black
ones. (though in the case of the testing of chelas, they did
consciously not interfere, or something).
TRUTH ought to be our first priority. And anybody suggesting TRUTH is
not important hasn't understood why science is the greatest friend of
theosophy. Real scientists search for the truth, so do real
theosophists, I would think. And real theosophists sharing, would do
so also on a basis of truth, I would guess (being cynical here). I
mean, if one doesn't want something to be known, one can just be
silent about it. There is absolutely no need to lie about it (unless
the question leading to that answer is asked, obviously).
