Anything wrong with that statement you quoted? Seems quite reasonable to me.
Maybe your problem is that you seem to be more interested in who says it
than what is said. Perception is only in the mind of the perceiver. Why are you
so interested in convincing ANYBODY of ANYTHING? Aren't we allowed to judge
ideas for ourselves -- or do we have to first judge the person who gives them
out? Besides, what makes you think anyone cares about what you think about
anyone else's intentions or motives?
