Hi Katinka (and all),

There is a confusion between the seven fold nature or constitution of the 
coadunate but not consubstantial fields of consciousness, and the 4 planes or 
states of "substance" (spiritual, mental, astral, physical) -- as the primal 
energy rays and their fields descend from spirit to matter. This can only be 
visualized in an actual logically involved field diagram, not by counting 
steps on a ladder. (Besides, you left out "prana" in your "U" diagram.)

Look at the diagrams of the seven globes in the (facsimile) Secret Doctrine 
(I-123, 172, 200) and compare and correlate them (which takes a slight twist 
of intuitive mental visualization) with the symbolic (chakrafield) diagram, 
as well as with the fractal field diagram (of the actual field involution) 
at:

Note the relationship of the number of planes with the number of fields as 
they descend from spirit to matter. Remember, everything in cosmic 
engineering depends on analogy and correspondence (in addition to the 
fundamental laws of cycles and electromagnetism).
