Thank you very much indeed. I have read extensively
in history but never found the story of the swastika
in Europe. After all this stuff about Hitler that
three or our list members keep posting I was beginning
to think there might be something to what they are
saying. Your comments are very reassuring and put
things into perspective.

I can see how this would have been necessary after
Bismarck merged the Germanic states into a federation
in the nineteenth century. It is regrettable that it
was turned to evil purposes later.

Which is an excellent reason for the Theosophists to
quietly drop he symbol from their publications.
