Yes, I agree with you. My personal opinion is that she was 
initiated, but as others have pointed out, we cannot prove that. 
That is what I meant. What I believe (and in this case you also 
believe) and what I can prove are not the same thing. Yncovering 
some of the methods used is useful in evaluating some of the ckaims 
made usinf evidence rather than faith. It is also useful in some 
other ways.

Yes, she alludes to other methods the sources of which I have 
identified. What I was saying is that the specific technique 
referred to in th article appears to be the method discussed by 
Buddhaghosa. If you read the article and the book, which is much 
more detailed, you can see that this is true. Also, Olcot mentions 
this book by name in a context which is highly suggestive.
