Weapons of mass destruction and the U.S.

It was Teddy Roosevelt who spoke of speaking softly and carrying a big
stick.
After we nuked the Japs (Today is Pearl Harbor Day, the day of infamy, 62
years ago) we knew for certain that we possessed weapons of mass
destruction. Fortunately, such weapons have not had to be used again.
Once was enought to alert the world to what could happen. But if Japan
had had them instead of us or Germany at that time, or the U.S.S.R. in
the years following, would they have been so hesitant in a staging repeat
performance? It was enough that we carried the big stick and never used
it again.
When Reagan played his bluff with the Russians, many were agast. (and
still are) But I believe he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. And the iron
curtain fell.
If Saddam has nuclear, biological or chemical weapons and no one else
does, what on earth would deter him from using them. Mere possession of
those types of weapons is not in itself anything evil, it's the USE of
them we should be concerned about. I believe George W Bush is one who
speaks softly and carrys a big stick, as Reagan did. Time will tell, but
all this liberal hysteria, especially on this site, is starting to get to
me and I can't sit back any longer and allow Bart to carry the whole
load. For reasoning folks in so many other areas, many here seem as
paranoid about this as any other liberal. I for one am happy that the
moral spiritual vacuum and cesspool that was the Clinton-Gore
administration is finally over. Yes, I voted for W and today, flecting on
the alternative am so glad I did.
Boy, and the liberal politicians are screaming that they're side doesn't
get enough coverage. They should visit this site!
