Dear Gopi:
I think if you refer to THE LIGHT OF ASIA by Sir Edwin Arnold (on the
life and Teachings of the Buddha) one of the most beautiful
descriptions of peaceful living is given.
Brotherhood sums it up.
If we are all spiritual beings in essence, then killing the body
achieves nothing. It is a show of impatience and ignorance by those
who resort to that kind of thing.
It is not a correct way of progress for humanity, whether individually
or collectively.
Mercy, peacefulness, charity and forbearance are indicated as the ways
of spiritual living. This is the way a truly Theosophical life ought
to be conducted with the Higher Manas always in control of Kama-Manas.
Best wishes,
Dallas

I am just curious, What is Peaceful Living!
By that do we mean a state of equilibrium, where nothing is happening?
Or
do we mean that we have our daily chaotic life (of Doris Day movies)
with
all our daily pit falls but surely moving towards the panacea that we
have defined it to be. Or do we mean by that just a state of no war!
My pondering is simply this - May we define What is peaceful living?
Then
is that a reasonable Theosophical state to long for?
