Re: Theos-World Question to LHM

Steve-I think this response is very thoughtful. In the midst of all of the garbage and general asbuse being steeped upon fellow Theosophists by fellow Theosophists on this talk group (just for today December 2, 2002) your response is much appreciated.

I don't know if you all realize it or not but the abusive language and mean attitudes in those responses charaterized as such, must be simlarly as kamically dangerous as the things those individuals participated in at the turn of last century after H.P.B. and Judge had left the scene. There is no doubt in my mind that other contentious individuals looking for a place to practice will be attracted to this site just as elementaries are attracted to the passive living and kama rupas of the recently past.

Let the past die, as we all must personally do. Let us pay attention to the present Theosophical out-pouring so that those who are new to Theosophy might enjoy it and quench the thirst they have for the relighting of their manas.

This all may sound presumptious, but I have to tell you it gets awfully tiresome having to ignore nearly 3/4s of the responses I get daily. But rather than leave this site I thought I would say something.-Steven Levey

This is a minority opinion I am sure, but I think it would be well if
there were a Back to Blavatsky movement and Leadbeater, Besant,
Jinarajadasa and the rest of them were confined to the trash can of
history. Leadbeater and Besant tried to steer people away from
Blavatsky's teachings which they never understood in the first
place. If I ran the TS I would simply let those books fall gradually
out of print and not reprint them. None of those characters would be
mentioned in TS publications and they would be gradually
marginalized. The valuable stuff all came from Blavatskly's era
anyway. Unless I am mistaken, in the UULT and Pasadena organizations
all of them are utterly ignored. Anyway, that seems like a simple
and workable plan of action.
