Same for me, I kept remembering the cautions about how Issis Unveiled
had purposeful double blinds and intentional outrages intended to make
the faint
hearted or dilettantes blow off and close the book. I had read that
the work by Gurjeff
was intentionally the same way, but it was much worse than Blavatsky!
