In similar vein to the ecstatic Lover/Beloved metaphors you example I
might
recommend another work which is a wide Middle East Tradition. The work of
G. R. S. Mead , one of the "Echoes From The Gnosis" series he published.
Echoes From The Gnosis, Vol. XI "The Wedding Song of Wisdom", The
Theosophical Publishing Society, London & Benares, 1908.
These Volumes are in current republication.
