Dear Friend:
Are you able to give positive references for what you write. There is
apparently much dependence on memory -- but the facts are not clear.

The author of the "Shannon" letter states that Blavatsky was one of
the "amanuensis chelas" and says that from 1885 onward she was the
only one, which suggests Damodar was the other. It was in 1885 that
Damodar froze to death trying to get into Tibet. A behavior which is
radically inconsistent with the statements of Hodgson and others that
he was a con artist who did not believe in the mahatmas.
WHERE DOES HE SO STATE ? I have not seen this so stated. D

WHO SAID THAT DAMODAR FROZE TO DEATH ? THERE WAS AN UNVERIFIED REPORT
TO THIS EFFECT I believe Olcott mentions this-- am I right ? D.
