In the 1970's (this is without checking the actual date), handwriting
analysts and style analysts looked at the Mahatma Letters and
Blavatsky's articles and handwriting, and concluded that Blavatsky could
not have written both. Further research showed that the handwriting
analyst Hodgson went to never saw either Blavatsky's handwriting OR the
Mahatma Letters; Hodgson wrote his own copies, handed them both, and the
handwriting expert concluded that they were written by the same person
(which they were: Hodgson). This and other factors caused the British
Society for Psychic Research to declare that the Hodgson Report itself
was not valid.
