Is this earth more than we see?
People who have tried to go beyond , in some form , the physical have always
, always met up with those who are "stuck".
Mark the tales told to an unbelieving audience in the eastern US about the
Grand Canyon by John Muir and earlier by some others who tried to convince
people of it's supreme grandeur in the first tales brought back by settlers.
Mark the stiff resistance to even science fiction in this crass age.
It is probably on this premise that W. Q. Judge took "seriously" people who
needed and wanted some confirmation of findings beyond our physical. Although
erring perhaps in their "vehicles" of transformation the underlying need of a
great portion of humanity was recognized as an "attempt" by individuals to
actually "SEE" the Grand Canyon because of "tales" brought back.
We want immortality. Do we want to freeze ourselves cryogenetically?
We want to see Uncle Fred and Aunt so-and-so again after death.Do we go to
seances?
Humanity, it seems, does all these things.
Tales of Shamballa have been told. Do we want to go there?
Theosophy gives us a roadmap, (G'd bless it).
As with any "roadmap" it shows the best route to one's destination rather
than "wander" all over the scenery and maybe wind up back to where one
started by not using one.
Some want to go. It seems that others remain stuck and blame it all on some
"unknown" force that keeps them stuck.Blaming this blaming that they wander
far and go nowhere. (it's easier that way, they think.)
The false and the true make no inroads into their being. After all, it's all
the same stuff ...isn't it?
A better world claim the Jehovah's Witnesses is just around the corner for
those who will so believe and i say, well, let's make one. Let's live life as
Jesus preached from the Sermon on the Mount. Than we'll , maybe SEE the
"hollowness" of it all and the Hallowed-ness of it all in Reality. Till then,
folks, we live with that slender maiden called hope.
And in the words of Shelley in his marvelous poem "Mask of Anarchy":
verse 23 My father time is weak and grey
With waiting for a better day;
See how idiot-like he stands,
Fumbling with his palsied hands!
verse 31 As flowers beneath May's footstep waken,
As stars from Night's loose hair are shaken,
As waves arise when loud winds call,
Thoughts sprung where'er that step did fall.
verse 32 And the prostrate multitude,
Looked----and ankle-deep in blood,
Hope, that maiden most serene,
Was walking with a quiet mien;
